Parking Secrets

Where There Is Still Good Parking On Campus

As of August 24, 2005

Based on lot surveys for the week preceding the above date, the following locations still have good parking available throughout the day:

Lot #38:  This lot (south of the Educational Services Building and east of Alumni Residence Center) is open for use by all parking permits holders (commuter student, resident student, and faculty/staff).  It was showing over 200 parking spaces still available throughout the day.

Lot #39:  This lot (at the southeast corner of Locust Street and Stewart Street) is open for use by all parking permit holders, and was showing over 75 parking spaces (not counting those impacted by construction activities) throughout the day.

Lot #40:  This lot (along Locust Street by Askew Field Baseball Stadium) is open for use by all parking permit holders, and was showing over 50% of the lot still open and available throughout the day.

New Student Parking Lot by Tennis Center:  This lot was showing a little over a dozen parking spaces available most times of the day.  The lot is appearing to be full when viewed from the street, but spaces are often available in the back rows.  This lot will be expanded (going from the current 270 spaces to a total of 500 spaces) in the next few months when the Tennis Center is relocated.

Lot #30:  This is a free parking lot (no parking permit required) on the east side of the Pan American Center.  It is in the process of receiving its first ever real parking surface, and it has free shuttle service (a quick 5-minute ride) to the center of campus, letting out at the Food Court on Frenger Mall.  Over 250 parking spaces are already surfaced and ready for use.  Another 250 will be ready next week.
